Tangis Sebatang Tamar mengisahkan tentang sebatang tamar yang dijadikan Rasulullah sebagai mimbar sewaktu membaca khutbah telah menangis kesedihan.   Nabi S.A.W hanya berdiri di sebatang tamar semasa menyampaikan khutbah solat jumaat... Namun lama-kelamaan batang tamar mula menjadi usang dan para sahabat mendirikan sebuah mimbar baharu bagi mengantikan batang tamar tersebut... Semasa Rasulullah S.A.W ingin memulakan khutbah jumaat... maka terdengar oleh Baginda akan satu suara tangisan yang kuat sehingga didengari oleh para sahabat yang berada di situ... suara tangisan yang didengari oleh Rasulullah itu rupanya daripada sebatang tamar... Lalu, Rasulullah bertanya kepada Sebatang tamar tersebut, mengapakah ia menangis... Lalu si batang tamar ini pun menjawab  " Aku sungguh sedih mengenangkan khidmatku tidak diperlukan lagi oleh mu ya Rasulullah...sedangkan aku ingin bersamamu hingga akhir hayatku" Rasulullah tersenyum sambil memeluk batang tamar tersebut lalu...
